While the family is a way, Mom scrapbooks all day!

Kevin needed to go to the Santa Cruz area for business so, he decided to take Ryan,Kenny and Stacey with. The kids were able to go to a cool Skate park and to the beach and just spend some one on one time with their dad.. I know they have a good time together. Jennifer and I stayed at home and she watched a lot of episodes of "So you think you can dance?" (what else do teenagers do?) she did help me with some chores. I scrapbooked, art project, etc.. We had a good time just being at home..

I haven't made cards in a while so, I just decided to "Go for it".. I used papers, rub-ons, distress ink, flowers, rhinestones, cardboard flourishes, lace.. I think it turned out pretty good..

This is a layout of Jennifer who is 15 in the picture. She is 16 now. I have a tendency to add a lot to my pages.. I think it is my way of incorporating all my other special vintage stuff.. I sewed ribbon to the page, a little "bling" "say it with crystals", vintage flowers some I had and some I purchase in a kit from "Artsy
Mama", glitter, vintage jewelry, felt bird, cardboard flourishes etc..

This layout is of my daughter Stacey, who is 18 now and only 6 in the picture.
I cut 2" strips of coordinating paper, added felt flower strip, bling, flowers, ribbon, vinyl rub-ons, etc... 3 of my kids were gone a few days this week so, I
stayed in my creating room and made a huge mess (I wish I took a picture of it..)
I literally got everything out and ended up sitting on the floor while putting stuff
together. I made a few more things but, I will share that later... Hope you have an enjoyable weekend...

You are one crazy woman!! One picture to a giant amount of "Bling Bling".. if I did that, I'd never get caught up! You are crazy crazy girl, but we still love you! As long as Ryan and Kenny's scrapbooks aren't so Bling Bling.. I'll forgive you this time! Glad you had fun and the kids too! My parents are coming in Sept. for my b-day and we are so excited! Now, I have to get all the house organized and decorated and painted before they get here! It's gonna be a whirlwind of 6 weeks!!! I CAn Do IT!!

Lovely layouts! I just love all the embellishments and extra bits you incorporate -- gives them such a wonderfully rich look.

I agree with the other posters on your title .... not a bad way to spend a free day at all :)

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and for your lovely comment! I was just emailing someone else who asked about the tinting process and then saw your comment and thought you might like this info too: after cleaning the image up on the computer, I printed it onto heavy cardstock (you could use watercolor paper too), and then used guache to tint them. It's like a thick watercolor - it can still achieve transparent effects but with a greater depth of color than traditional watercolors.

I'm not surprised those old original images would go for so much online. They are very in demand right now. You could always sell photocopies and keep the originals if you ever decided to go in that direction.

Thanks again for stopping by! It was nice to meet you and I'm so glad you found the coloring info useful!
