"MY BEDROOM NEEDS SOME DECORATING HELP"!!!

I can't believe I am doing this.. but, I am desperate.. You know, we have gotten
into the trap of leaving our bedroom to be decorated to the last.. It is literally an eye sore.. I really love to decorate but, I am in a decorating Funk..
The room has looked like this over a year and a half.. I took all the cottage cheese
off the ceilings.. Oh, you don't know about that stuff.. It was horrible work. I really don't have a desire to do anymore ceilings for a while..
I painted the walls green. The doors, baseboard will be off white..
The room is 200 square feet or so.. not very big.. Also, the bathroom vanity and sink is in the room. small door with a toliet and shower.

THIS IS THE DEAL...

1. I only want 2 pieces of furniture in the room.
a. Bed and headboard
b. Armoire (to put socks, t-shirts, etc.)

2. I don't want to spend a lot.. I change my mind about things so much it isn't worth it to spend a lot..
3. I love Yard sales, thrift stores, etc.. I am all about reuse, recycle.

WHAT IS MY STYLE?
I loved Paris when I was there.. I love French country, Romantic, a little Gothic.
(I know weird huh!)

WHAT IS ALREADY IN THE ROOM?
BED (needs a headboard)
MIRROR
SCONCES ABOVE BED
1 WINDOW IN ROOM AND 1 SLIDING GLASS DOOR THAT GOES OUT TO THE POOL.
WHAT I WANT TO ADD IN THE ROOM?
I have lots of pictures of Jesus that I love. I would like to incorporate them in
my room on one of the walls with family pictures etc..
I have a beautiful old Lamp given by my husband's grandma. It is French with 2 lovers on it. (you know what I mean!)
I have a beautiful old Tapestry given by my Mother-in-law that is also french.

I have scoured through many magazines.. I own a library full..
For years I have cut out pictures in old magazines and glued them to a sketch diary.
It was a great way to get some inspiration and ideas..
SO, IF YOU HAVE ANY IDEAS FOR MY BEDROOM.. PLEASE, INSPIRE ME! :) THANK YOU :)

THERE IS A FUN WEBSITE TO GET GREAT IDEAS.. WWW.RATEMYSPACEHGTV.COM
CHECK IT OUT.. BEWARE THOUGH.. YOU MAYBE BROWSING FOR HOURS... :)

If you don't have to have the fan, change it out to a chandelier. I got my daughters for really cheap.

Old frames painted are so nice, and take up space. They don't even require pictures. You could use neat paper instead of pictures.

I can't wait to see the progress. Keep us posted. I like the color and the sconces. Maybe add some bead to the lampshades.

Brooke stopped by. She is a sweety.

I just got some inspiration for your room!!! Ok... Pay attention!

1. Get the pink door...hang it sideways as your headboard.

2. I gave Stacey a green metal wall hanging...Spray paint it Brown or Black then "age" it.

3. Get the same bed side table i have(Walmart= 8.00)

4. go to the fabric store and buy fabric...make a two tale cloths for the side tables and get extra fabric to make like 2 matching pillows.

5. At the end of your bed get a antique bench.

That's all i have so far.

Hi Caleen! Mine is not even that decorated!! I have the flat builders paint on the wall and zero picts! So when you get some ideas send them over!

Loved your other post. That is so true. I struggle with the same thing daily.

Caleen - You know how to do it!!!What a great way to get FREE decorating hints and ideas!!! Use your blogspot!!!

If you go with the chandilier You can pick up one of those floor fans that are a replica of the past. I have seen them at Gottschalks- that's if you still need some air movement in your room.

Does Brooke have a blogspot???

Good luck-----Sue

Looks like so much fun, a blank canvas with vast possibilities. I love the color on the wall, it looks very close to my bedroom color. I would start with your fabrics and work from there. Probably the bedding since that is the main focus of the room. With that color on the walls I love the combo of chocolate brown with it, but that may be too formal, if you want more of a cottage look. I think it is cool to use different things for your headboard, and definitely cheaper so you could change it later, if you want. We have a large metal scrolly frame for our headboard ( I don't know what to call it) anyway it looks cool. You have great taste and creativity so I'm sure it will turn out beautiful whatever you do.

Try this website for inspiration, they have some pretty amazing pictures. Pay attention to what wall colors are used with which fabrics:
