"Making "Handmade" things at Christmas"

This wreath I made after seeing so many made on Blogs.. I used a dollar store foam wreath and wrapped it with cotton batting and tulle. Then I used the thick "Wool"
yarn. (Makes wrapping so much faster!) There is a trick doing this wrapping of the yarn.. I haven't exactly gotten it mastered yet.. Was pretty fast. I then wrapped some white yarn.. The rest of the doodads are just some fun things I have picked up while thrifting, yard sales... It is hanging on my shutters with our stockings...

This wreath was made the same technique.. I used two different greens.. and incorporated the thick red yarn.. I cut out some felt for Holly leaves and made the berries with some red felt. I just cut out circles, gathered it it up and put a little stuffing inside.. Then I flattened it.. The bird nest is a fun yard sale find.. I have a hug bin of doodads for christmas crafts..
I had not made curtains for our windows yet.. In our home we have 3 good size windows in the Family room.. We do have wood shutters.. I decided to just made a crocheted garland for now instead.. I chain stitch/double stitched 2 different colors of yarn.. Then I crocheted them together with white yarn.. just by using a single stitch. Then I made pom poms.. (Remember those?) I have been gathering old wool sweaters lately and using them for crafts.. I made a small little wool wreath to go on my garland.. Just with a wire coat hanger about a 3" circle and just cut the wool into 1" pieces. Then I used part of an old turquoise/blue sweater
and made a Bow for the middle and made some red yarn pom poms for the middle.

Hope you enjoyed seeing some fun things I have made.. I love handmade things
at Christmas..

I hope you are enjoying your Holidays.. So much to do and yet, it is almost here..
I know I am not going to get everything done and made that I wanted to.. Oh well!
There is always something to look forward to next year..

God Bless and Merry Holidays and a Happy New Year to all!!

Caleen, all your creations are so pretty. How fun to display them during the holidays. I've been meaning to tell you that I LOVE the R.S. board at church. It's always so fun to see what you're going to do next.
