"AN ADVENTURE IN THE BIG CITY WITH KENNY"!

This year the 4th grade classes at my son Kenny's school were not making a trip
to a California Mission.. I don't understand why?, it is always such a fun trip and they learn so much... So, I got an Idea?! UH-OH !! I seem to be the one elected to help with the mission projects... I have helped with 5 so far.... I have decided I do o.k. in the "arts" but, don't ask me about ALGEBRA!! YUCK!! Kenny had decided on the San Francisco De Asis and he is doing a "STORY BOARD". I have never been to that mission so, I wanted to take Kenny so he could see it and experience what the mission is all about... Kenny had been sick but on Wednesday after he had been home all day and rested we decided to go to the mission on Thursday morning.. It is about 3 hour drive from our home.. We left about 9:00 am and even though it was raining we were having an "ADVENTURE",, Kenny watched some movies and I tried to drive us there safely.... Of course I had some stops along the way and I had googled the directions so I wouldn't get lost... WHO MAKES UP THESE DIRECTIONS? I don't know how we did it but, we made our first stop and Kenny believes it was divine intervention... When you ask Kenny he has a BIG STORY ABOUT ME!! HA! He said I did about 20 illegal things while driving... OUR first stop was "TAIL OF THE YAK" in BERKELEY,CA...
What a quaint little store... So colorful and eclectic stuff.. I can't even describe it.. They have lots of papers, ribbons, different stuff... the chandeliers were from Venice, Italy and were
absolutely gorgeous... (I will try to post pics later..) Our next stop was in Berkeley also not very far... "CASTLE IN THE AIR" It is also full of amazing things... so colorful, full of art of all kinds.. papers, they have lots of great classes to take.. It also is a very inspiring place and
worth a trip... (I will try to post pics later).. There are a lot of shops around there... We then made our way to SAN FRANCISCO to the Mission... Again, I don't know how we made it...
"divine intervention"... Kenny says it was just our Lucky day!! When we got to the mission it literally took me 45 minutes to find a parking place I was getting upset and nervous because we only had 1 hour to tour the mission... Again, divine intervention..... We toured the mission for 1 hour and it was worth it... It is a beautiful, old mission... Kenny was so happy that he was there... We are not catholic but, we still respect a house of worship and the purpose of the missions.. Afterwards we decided to not go home yet because the traffic on the bay bridge was horrific... So, we went to the fisherman's Wharf and hung out there for 3 hours.. It was a fun trip and we saw a lot in a short time.... One funny thing happened.. when I was coming up to the toll booth I didn't have the right amount of change... you know you have to have the exact amount.. WHO THINKS UP THESE THINGS? o.k., so the cars are whizzing by and everything is so fast when you get to the booth... I pulled up and realized after Kenny told me that NO ONE was there!! I couldn't back up so, I just took off... Kenny was ducking down in the back seat... Now, I am going to get a stupid ticket ... because I exited without paying....
I wasn't trying to be dishonest but, I just reacted... figures... I definitely do better keeping the laws in my country town... BIG CITIES are fun to visit but, I don't want to live in them......
Hopefully you don't see my picture on a "WANTED POSTER"...........

Divine Interventions. Glad those were invented. The mission is awesome. Looks like it was worth it.
